Russel Orcutt, B.Sc. 

Founder, CEO & Director 

Russel Orcutt is an experienced CEO with a demonstrated history of working in the environmental services industry since 1994. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Lethbridge. Mr. Orcutt has a strong business management acumen and is skilled in petroleum, sustainable development, environmental issues, environmental awareness, agriculture and construction. Russel started working in the environmental field in 1994 and became General Manager of a publicly traded company until 2005 before founding Summit Liability Solutions Inc.


 

Mike Bowie, B.Sc.

Founder, President & Director

Mike Bowie is a diversified environmental and business management professional working in the oil and gas and finance sectors since 1995. Mr. Bowie’s primary responsibilities include managing the company's finances, acquisitions and long-term business development. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Augustana University College. Mr. Bowie has a strong background in oil and gas liability management, reclamation and remediation. His experience includes environment, health and safety management of both on-shore and off-shore programs and senior management experience of publicly traded and private companies.


 

Jeff Carratt

Founder, Vice President, Business Development and Marketing & Director

Jeff Carratt is a business development and marketing professional who started his oil field career in 1998. His primary responsibilities include key account and sales team management as well as marketing and brand development. Mr. Carratt is experienced and knowledgeable in oil and gas market with a focus on environmental services and assessments, pipeline, facility and wellbore decommissioning services. Mr. Carratt plays a key role in evaluation, integration and brand development of Summit’s acquisitions and companies launched under the Summit Group of Companies. Mr. Carratt has focused his career on developing long-term client relationships built on trust, honesty and integrity. His roles include market evaluation, contract negotiation, sales and marketing, brand development and business management.


 

Jason Pecht

Founder, Vice President, Operations & Director 

Jason Pecht is an environmental professional with a diverse environmentally focused career since 195 in the drilling waste management and reclamation services industry. His primary responsibilities include technical guidance, operations and business management. Mr. Pecht is a drilling waste regulatory compliance expert who has helped develop the regulatory framework in both Canada and Australia. Mr. Pecht was intergral in the development and implementation of drilling bi-product regulations, guidelines and operations in Australia.


 

Robin Weseen, B.Sc., PAg

Founder, Vice President & Director 

Robin Weseen is a Professional Agrologist, registered in Alberta, who started his environmental career in 1998. Mr. Weseen has a Bachelor of Education in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Environmental Science both from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Weseen’s responsibilities include business management and supervision of the operations and technical guidance groups.


Geoff Lindsay, B.Sc., EIANZ

Director of Operations

Geoff is responsible for the growth and operational management of Summit’s Australian region.  Over his 23+ year career, Geoff has held management, technical and operational focused leadership roles within the mining, oil and gas and environmental consulting sector.  In addition to his leadership role, Geoff’s background is in providing a full range of environmental services from spill response, pre-construction assessment services, drilling by-product management to surface abandonment and restoration application. Geoff has extensive experience coordinating environmental regulatory applications and approvals, environmental management systems and asset retirement obligations. Geoff ensures that our operations are executed to the highest standards considering both regulatory, and customer requirements.

Geoff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Alberta his major area of study was Environmental Economics and Policy with a minor in Land Reclamation.

 
 

Key Personnel

Sarah Tune, B.A.Sc.

Field Operations Team Lead

Sarah is a senior ecologist and environmental scientist with over fifteen years' experience undertaking vegetation management, natural resource management, waste management, rehabilitation and terrestrial ecology assessments for the State Government, Australia Pacific LNG and Santos GLNG projects across Queensland.  Sarah is a DAWE approved ecologist and a DES recognised suitably qualified person, to undertake protected flora surveys with over nine years’ experience working on major projects in the CSG industry and has an exceptional understanding of environmental approvals and compliance.

Sarah has a Certificate IV in workplace health and safety and has developed the spatial data schema for undertaking Land Spray While drilling operations in Australia.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Protected Area Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Rangeland Management from the University of Queensland.

 

 

Claud Zappone, B.Sc.

Field Environmental Advisor

Claud is an accomplished field environmentalist with nine years’ experience working for major companies, small consultancy firms and private enterprise. Claud is also a DAWE approved ecologist and a DES recognized suitably qualified person, to undertake protected flora surveys in QLD. Claud possesses considerable knowledge and skills in a wide range of ecological assessment and management. Claud has conducted and delivered ecological and pre-clearance assessments throughout Queensland and has provided environmental compliance for coal seam gas projects. Claud has a sound knowledge of approvals frameworks relating to the petroleum and gas industry and a working knowledge of legislation relevant to environmental assessment, conservation and management. Claud also has experience in ecological restoration project management of natural area environments.

Claud has developed spatial data schema for undertaking ecological and pre-clearance assessments.


Thomas Schreder, M.Sc. 

Field Operations Team Lead

Thomas has experience in the coordination of CSG well drilling waste management, including environmental sampling and analysis to ensure compliant waste management and disposal in accordance with legislative and procedural requirements. Thomas provides high quality reporting expertise and is experienced in undertaking  environmental assessments. Thomas obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria, in interdisciplinary studies in the field of Environment and Bio-Resources Management with the Master’s study focus on Energy, Environmental Economics and Politics. While finishing his studies Thomas gained valuable work experience as a project coordinator at a European Union supported state association in Vienna where he was responsible for the implementation of environmental projects in Austria.
